We are delivering high-quality, purpose-built student accommodation at McLeod Street in Gorgie, on the site of the former Tynecastle High School. Developed in partnership with S1 Developments, the scheme brings a long-vacant brownfield site back into productive use while retaining and reusing part of the Grade B listed former school building. The accommodation is being delivered in two phases, with the first phase now open to students and the second completing by September 2026. The project supports the University's Strategy 2030 ambition to provide an outstanding student experience, contributes to the regeneration of west Edinburgh, and adds much-needed accommodation that helps ease pressure on the city's wider housing.
